Open Source Afghan

A lot of people who have been knitting for a few months, or even a year, seem to think that knitting an afghan is beyond them. The implication, of course, is that afghans require hours upon hours of tedious, complicated patterns. Sure, most people might attempt a baby afghan, but a real, full-sized afghan seems overwhelming to a lot of people.

I myself have been knitting for roughly a year and a half, and most afghan patterns do still seem pretty intimidating, particularly when they require one to cast on almost two-hundred stitches on a huge circular needle. Despite this, I really wanted to knit an afghan, and a normal, adult-sized one, too. Enter mitered squares.
